Pate The Great's Papa

Ahh, the joys of dining with a toddler. Eating chicken pot pie has never been so rewarding...

I am truly blessed by God - to have a job close to home - getting to eat lunch with my family is an absolutely wonderful perk!

Pate has officially graduated to a big boy bed! Mom and Dad were nervous that first night, but the little man was pumped... We figured it would be best if he wasn't having to transistion to a new bed on the same night we bring home his little sister from the hospital. All in all, the little guy has done great with the transition. I, on the other hand, am realizing yet again that all of this is happening way too fast...

These were taken last weekend, at Juliana's 3rd birthday party... Thanks for inviting us "Jewels"!

Patriot is always drawn to water, and this was no exception. The thing that I find funny, is that while he loves seeing water he does not enjoy being in it very much... baths, pools, lakes, anywhere he runs the risk of being fully submersed is approached with trepidation... Now puddles he loves, getting squirted with a hose or a water gun makes him laugh, but sticking his feet in the pool is approaching a threshold for him... I bring all of that up to tell you this: I wish you could have seen him inching ever so carefully up to the edge of this pier, not wanting to risk falling in, but wanting desperately to be close to the "wa-wa". It's very cute to watch him in these situations.

I think he would have sat on the pier all night if we'd have let him :)
